Trailing by seven after three periods, the ninth-seeded Mounties staged an incredible fourth-quarter performance, outscoring the No. 8 Cutters 17-4, thanks to eight points from junior Alisa Wiggins and seven from freshman Bianca Fede.
Fede spearheaded the fourth-quarter comeback by kicking off the fourth quarter with a deep three before posting five of the next seven points, including the game-tying inside jumper.
"Bianca [is extremely gutsy]," Palek said. "She wants the ball, she wants to take big shots and, whether she’s missed 20 in a row or made 20 in a row, she thinks the next one’s going in. She has the chance to be an unbelievable player here if she can keep her head on straight and continues to work because she’s got stuff you can’t teach. She’s got ice in her veins."
